Help Nature Thrive in Bristol’s green spaces. Get outdoors and improve your own wellbeing.
Join in seasonal practical activities:
- Cut back brambles along woodland edges or in grassland.
- Clear litter along paths and streams.
- Learn new skills – scything grass or pruning fruit trees.
- Rebuild paths and steps to stop woodland flowers being trampled.
- Observe and learn about the animals, plants and habitats.
Session timing
Wednesdays, 10am – 3.00pm
Fridays, 10am – 2.30pm
Not sure if it’s for you? Give us a try – come for a taster ½ hr or 1 hr.
Can’t stay all day? Stay till 12.30pm
Wednesday – sites in South / East Bristol
Friday – sites in North Bristol
- We will provide:
- Training
- Tools, equipment and gloves
- Tea, coffee & biscuits.
- Welfare van with toilet and handwashing facilities.
Please bring a packed lunch and a full water bottle.
Wear sturdy shoes and suitable clothing for the weather.
No experience needed. All levels of fitness welcome.
Work sessions are led by Nicky Hodges, the ‘Roving’ ranger. We take breaks for coffee/tea and for lunch.
Each session will begin with a ‘tools talk’ covering:
- Intro to site and the day’s task
- Demonstration of how to use tools
- Working safely at the site and with consideration for others
Nicky will send out an email to confirm details of the meeting point and session the day before.
We want you to feel welcome and included. Please let the ranger know of any barriers to you getting involved. We will try our best to find ways to get them out of the way.
